This shows a similar travel size watercolour set to mine, which I’m so passionate about – which I bought in San Francisco a year or so back. If I’d had a spare minute I’d have sketched this one for you. Please forgive me in my excitement. A mere photo!
I hadn’t seen any as small in Australia, but had seen larger ones at outrageous amounts. So when people asked where to get one like mine, I felt I should find where and how. No one needs to pay more than somethings worth.
Interestingly I’d recently looked up the website of Utrecht Art Store in SF where I’d bought my original one for $35 or so and decided to order another. I was quite excited wondering when it would arrive. Imagine my fury when a week or so later I had an email saying they only accepted US credit cards, or bank checks!! Huh. Well they clearly are doing just fine if they don’t want my business.
Anyway it just so happened that Amazon emailed me with the same product at a better price – a day later. Funny that. And they clearly don’t have any problem selling to people downunder.
Then guess what. Walked into Artlink at Brookvale today and….dada…..miniature travel size watercolour sets…..$24.95!!! Same brand too.
So I bought one for spare. They are only available ‘On Special’ till all sold out they said. So hurry hurry.
It’s not quite the same as mine but at that price it’s everything you need to add colour to your sketches in the middle of nowhere.
P.S. I’m assuming that this ‘Special’ is available at all art stores.
