Thurs Nov 22. Perfume & Wooden hands

Perfume,Hands,Streets & Boats

November 24, 2012 by ErinHill Sketching

Our Sketching Week. Nov 22,23,24.  An excellent week for our sketchers. Take a look. THURSDAY NOV 22 ’12 I love the new wooden hands they had in my Art store. One is slightly larger than the other so having two together is a great sketch for people. The two hands are not forgiving if you don’t observe well before starting your sketch. And seeing I sketched my new perfume yesterday, that was the inspiration for the other choice today. Both […]

Flowers & Architecture

September 8, 2012 by ErinHill Sketching

Wow this has been a full week. We had amazing weather so we are really out & about now. Tues4,Thurs6,Fri7,Sat8 Sept’12 Let’s have a look at what we did starting with Tuesday’s Class. TUESDAY SEPT 4 ’12. It was business as usual after my Auckland sojourn. Suddenly it’s Spring and the flowers are blooming, and the birds atweeting. I picked some flowers on the way to the studio which became our still life setup. Being in a botanical mood we wandered […]

Wood in Architecture, Coffee & Yummy things

August 31, 2012 by ErinHill Sketching

Now it’s coming back to me. The most used building material here is wood. Beautiful homes and elegant buildings. All of wood. No termites to munch them up. Milton and I had coffee further along the main road at Dizzengoff Cafe. Right behind Milton’s head was the Polynesian Methodist Church, a lovely old building in wood. It ended up as a sketch amongst the other bits and pieces on the page. Also passed by bright green lawns with little white […]

Still life set-up. Mandarin with Tiny Green Leaves

Term 3 Starts with a NEW Class.

July 3, 2012 by ErinHill Sketching

I was so intrigued that among the mandarins I’d just arranged on the ‘Wedding Plate’ was one which still had two tiny green leaves attached. A sketch was an absolute must. I think it’s amazing they survived. One knows these don’t come straight off the tree outside. In fact they have a long journey and plenty of rough and tumble to get all the way to the store. And still with leaves. A first for me anyway. But – I […]
