Knitted by Peruvian ladies helping themselves out of poverty

I just adored all the wonderful knitted and woven products we saw on display at a very successful event, to raise funds by selling the handiwork of these Peruvian women. The room was filled with wonderful bags, rugs, wall hangings, clothing, toys and much more. These people are true artists. Afternoon Tea at the Gardens

The Royal Botanical Gardens whatsmore. You might think it’s all about plants with latin names,  odd cacti and duckponds, but that simply isn’t so. I found these 2 sketches while sorting out watercolours for my exhibition. Sometimes I don’t feel that happy with my sketches. We met several years back when Glenys and her family moved to Sydney. I popped in to have coffee as we had mutual friends in common. There on the walls were magnificent flower paintings and when I discovered she was the painter, we knew we were bonded.
