I’m Erin Hill, professional Artist for over 30 years. I’ve been painting and sketching here since 1999 and will be taking you to all the places I’ve discovered on my regular visits to this tiny village and surrounding areas in the Minervois area of Languedoc-Roussillon.

My trips are very personal and are for artists of all abilities, who love the good things in life. You will return with a wonderful sketchbook journal of your personal experiences, notes and memories.

Come on your own or with partner or friends. I will be tutoring as and when you need it, and there is no pressure at any time.

You need an average level of fitness, as we do a lot of wandering and exploring. Sometimes we may decide to walk between villages, or along a canal, sketching as we go, and enjoying fruit from the fig trees, almonds, olives, cherries, grapes and wild aromatic herbs . Other days we’ll be among Roman ruins, a hilltop village, a vineyard, a cemetery, and much more. All fantastic sketch locations.

Sketching means just a sketch book and some pens & mini watercolour set in your bag, and is done at any moment you see an appealing scene. ( You can see a picture of what to bring under ‘Weekly Art Classes’ in the menu bar )  Just a few lines and there you have it. I’ll help you add a dash of colour to complete the sketch. It’s as you see it, in a style all of your own. If you’ve never sketched before you’ll be hooked.

If you are an experienced painter, you’ll enjoy gathering material for later works.

If you prefer to paint, bring smaller pads, paints etc so that everything is portable as we move around. The locations will inspire artists of all abilities, working in any medium.

You will experience most of the above and more during our 6 days of SKETCHING IN PARIS

This is a week of sketching around the famous and not so famous locations of Paris, and enjoying the company of other like-minded people each day. Come on your own or with a friends. Artists of all abilities welcome. This is a very personalised week, sketching and exploring the places I love.

You can choose this as a one week Art Tour, or add it to a 2nd or 3rd week on the Art Tour ‘Sketching in South of France’

Several of us then hop on an Easyjet to Toulouse on the Sunday to start our  2nd and 3rd week in Trausse – our home in the South of France.

What we’ll do:  Meet in the hotel foyer at 10am each morning. We will sketch between 10am – 12.30pm. Have lunch in a little bistro, and sketch again from 2pm – 4pm. We can have dinner together if you like.

Of course we’ll do some of the famous tourist spots, but also places which are more intimate and interesting. We’ll squeeze in some shopping time if you wish. You’ll need a reasonable level of fitness as we do quite a bit of walking and catching metros I’ll also show you how to use the Metro system.

What to bring: You’ll just need a sketchbook and drawing pens, mini watercolour set, and watercolour pencils and a waterpen. Make sure they fit easily into a shoulder bag for easy getting about.

No experience necessary as I’ll have you sketching in your moleskin or sketchbook on your first day.

Accommodation & Rates:  6 nights accommodation in 4* hotel daily breakfast, sketch touring & tutoring.
