I’ve invited Jo Daniels (formerly of Austhetica in Mosman) to show some of her glorious handknits, bags and jewellery. We feel that the combination of paintings and handcrafts is a wonderful mix.

Also new to the Studio is French – Australian artist Marie Sornin. Marie is creating delightful beach themed acrylics on ‘found’ recycled wood. Shown below is her tri-coloured mouette and ‘Lone Surfer’. More of her work is on the wall in the Studio.

Welcome to our Studio
Amelie welcomes you to our Studio

I’m busy now getting some final work produced for my Bathers Pavilion Exhibition all of March and April this year. All the paintings are in new techniques I’ve been working on since the last exhibition, and now very comfortable with. You will see the influence of sketching in many of the works, with strong colour as a base.

Please email me if you’d like to be invited to the opening night.

Our weekly ‘The Art of Sketching’ classes on Thursdays & Saturdays, are based in the Studio and Term 1 starts on February 2 and 4.  Enrol now as we’re almost full.

Gift Vouchers are always available for Classes.

Information is also available on our Art Tours to Paris & South of France.

All details in menu bar above.

If the flag is up I am in. Amelie the shi-itzu will be on the doorstep.

I am doing an art assessment at school on Australian beaches and really like your one titled “‘Balmoral on Sunday”‘. Can you tell me what inspired you and your feelings on this piece.

Thank you

Genevieve Castell year 9

Hi Genevieve,
This is one I did when meeting a group I sketch with. With beaches I try to find something that makes it clear where it is. By choosing a view between the trees I could bring the eye to the space between and where the action was. It’s recognisable as Balmoral by seeing the background and beyond. I also tried to captured the relaxed beach feel.
Hope this helps, and all the best with the assessment.
Cheers,
Erin
