Church on the Hill 2

Decorative Manly

Got myself some 12inch square canvases. Really wanted to make a decorative style painting. Just adore this view so again the Church is on the hill, the ferry gliding past, and the square apartment blocks overlook the goings-on. Something very ‘story-like’ about this and a previous one (Happy Harbour). Maybe that’s what I like to do – tell a visual story with each painting. This is a Winter beach painting. If it was summer, you’d hardly see the sand for people, and the shadows would be much less. Winter can be the best of both seasons. Sketching at Manly’s OceanCare Day
